Frequently asked questions about Ring Metrics.

How does Ring Metrics work?

Ring Metrics connects to your Oura account using Oura's official API. Once connected, your health data is fetched directly to your device and displayed as widgets on your iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen.

What metrics are available?

Ring Metrics displays your Sleep Score, Readiness Score, HRV, resting heart rate, body temperature deviation, and activity data — the core metrics Oura tracks every day.

How do I connect my Oura account?

Open Ring Metrics and tap 'Connect Oura'. You'll be taken to Oura's secure login page to authorize access. Your Oura password is never seen or stored by Ring Metrics.

How often do widgets refresh?

Widgets update approximately every 15–30 minutes. iOS manages widget refresh timing in the background to balance performance and battery life, so exact timing may vary.

Is my health data private?

Yes. All data is fetched directly from Oura and processed on your device. Nothing is sent to Ring Metrics servers — we don't have any. Your Oura OAuth token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain.

My widget shows stale data — what should I do?

Try opening the Ring Metrics app to trigger a manual refresh. If that doesn't help, remove the widget and re-add it. iOS occasionally pauses background refresh for widgets that aren't frequently viewed.

Is Ring Metrics affiliated with Oura?

No. Ring Metrics is an independent third-party app that uses Oura's public API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Oura Health Oy.
